Character descriptions for The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood

ROBIN HOOD is quite impressed with himself and has an ego the size of the Grand Canyon. However, his heart is good, for his
mission is to help the homeless and poor of England. Dashing hero with a large ego.

LADY MARIAN is the niece of King Richard and Prince John, and is Robin’s true love. She is kind, charming, and share’s Robin’s
quest to aid the needy. However, she has a strange obsession with skin conditions. Lovely damsel in distress.

PRINCE JOHN is typically evil, selfish, and greedy, and has positively no regard for the welfare of England or its people. He should
be largely despicable. The head bad guy.

The
SHERIFF OF NOTTINGHAM shares all of Prince John’s prime qualities. He is a master sportsman and Robin’s chief rival. He
also hopes to marry Marian. Prince John’s cohort in crime.

The
TOWN’S GUY befriends Robin against his will and helps him out of few tight situations while teaching him some valuable
lessons at the same time. He serves as the story’s narrator. The local yokel.

The
LADY IN WAITING is fed up with life in the castle. Hip chick with an attitude. Lady Marian’s attendant.

THE
MERRY MEN (and WOMEN) collectively behave somewhat like a pack of happy but none-too-bright stray dogs. Lots of
screaming and flailing around.

FRIAR TUCK is the Holy relic. Generally the voice of reason amidst general chaos.

WILL SCARLET is the wise guy of the Merry Men. (One of the three most notable Merry Men.)

LITTLE JOHN is a big lummox with an IQ of six. (One of the three most notable Merry Men.)

ALLAN ADALE is slightly brighter than Little John. (One of the three most notable Merry Men.)

The
FAWNING LADIES…well…”fawn” over Prince John. Lots of ooohing and aaahing and throwing rose petals. They also serve as
cheerleaders at the tournament.
